Please note that using "The Birth Sling" as a birthing aid is done so at the risk of the user. We take no responsibility for birthing outcomes or injury that may occur. We advise that The Birth Sling should not be used as a swing and that the persons full weight should not leave the ground.
Contraindications for use of The Birth Sling
- Ruptured membranes without engagement of fetal head
- Unstable blood pressure, balance and/or mentation
- Any condition requiring bedrest
It is recommended that anyone using The Birth Sling must:
- Have a steady gait
- Be able to call for assistance if needed
- Be able to support themselves without assistance

How do I hang The Birth Sling?
The Birth Sling comes with two hanging options. you can watch the video tutorial here
- The door anchor – which can be used with most standard doors.
- The beam or Branch anchor – This allows you to hang The Birth Sling over any exposed beam, through a ceiling mount (sold separately) or over a sturdy tree branch for those that would like to labour outside.
How do I wash The Birth Sling?
CARE & WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Washing
The Birth Sling can be machine washed at a low temperature or hand washed using a modern laundry detergent (such as Ecolab Flexylite, Advacare or equivalent) that achieves hygienically clean laundry without chlorine bleach.
We recommend placing The Birth Sling in the supplied laundry bag before washing to prevent the hardware from becoming tangled or damaged.
Drying
Always air dry The Birth Sling. Do not tumble dry.
IMPORTANT: Blood & Bodily Fluid Contamination
Birth Slings that are grossly contaminated with blood or bodily fluids must be discarded and treated as biohazardous waste, regardless of the individual's infectious status.
Gross contamination includes fabric that is saturated, dripping or caked with blood or bodily fluids, or that may release potentially infectious material when compressed or during handling.
What is The Birth Sling made out of ?
The Birth Sling is made from high-quality Nylon Tricot fabric, with a tested load-bearing capacity of 250 kg (551 lbs).
We deliberately chose this material for its strength, durability and hygienic properties. While some women expect The Birth Sling to feel softer, our priority was to create a supportive, long-lasting fabric that could withstand the demands of pregnancy, labour and birth.
Unlike soft cotton or other absorbent fabrics, Nylon Tricot is lightweight, quick drying and easy to clean, making it particularly suitable for birth environments where exposure to blood and bodily fluids is possible.
Its smooth, low-stretch construction provides reliable support while allowing women to lean, pull and move confidently through different birth positions.
What is you return & exchange Policy
The Birth Sling 14-Day Return Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase of The Birth Sling. If for any reason you are not, you can return your item within 14 days of receiving it.
Eligibility for Returns:
- Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in the same condition as received.
- Proof of purchase (e.g., order confirmation or receipt) must be provided.
- Returns are not accepted for items damaged due to improper use, wear and tear, or failure to follow care instructions.
How to Return Your Item:
- Contact Us: Reach out to our customer service team at info@thebirthsling.com within 14 days of delivery to request a return authorization.
- Prepare Your Item: Ensure the product is securely packaged to avoid damage during transit.
- Ship the Return: Send the item back to the address provided by our team. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or incorrect.
Refunds:
- Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 7 business days.
Non-Returnable Items:
- Disposable components of The Birth Sling.
- Items purchased at a discount or part of a final sale.

What are expected shipping times?
Shipping & Delivery
The Birth Sling is a proudly mother led, family owned and operated business. Every order means so much to us, and we take great care in getting your Birth Sling to you.
Unlike large retailers such as Amazon, we operate on dedicated shipping days throughout the week. We work hard to dispatch your orders as quickly as possible and appreciate your understanding that we do things a little differently.
Expecting a baby? We want your Birth Sling to arrive well before your little one does! We recommend ordering early so you have plenty of time to familiarise yourself with The Birth Sling and practise your prenatal movements before labour begins.
Estimated Shipping Times
USA: 3–7 days
We have a dedicated warehouse in Mississippi, with orders dispatched several times a week. Most US orders arrive within 3–7 days.
Australia: 3–7 days
Our Australian orders are packed and dispatched twice a week from our Australian warehouse. Please allow approximately 3–7 days for delivery.
International: 2–3 weeks
For all other international destinations, please allow approximately 2–3 weeks for delivery, depending on your location and customs processing.
